Policy and Research Analyst






The core role of the Policy and Research Analyst is to research documents on education and employability and strategically analyze findings in line with guiding policies in order to make informed ideologies. The Analyst has to be abreast with educational trends so as to up scale the Foundation’s educational policies.

The duties of the Policy and Research Analyst are highlighted below:


  1. Gathering Data, Research Educational Policy and Trends & Identify relevant stakeholders
  2. Diagnose the problems and gaps where intervention is required
  3. Research innovative tools, resources and policies deployed in other developing countries such as:
    1. Kenya
    2. Ghana
    3. South Africa
    4. India
  4. Provide findings to the team to find ways of addressing the problems



  1. Conducting analysis, summarising and explaining research finds and their implications for our resource section
  2. Providing data for our baseline expansion to other states
  3. Producing policy and advocacy papers
  4. Producing opinion pieces
  5. Producing videos and podcasts


Reporting Relationship: President of Executive Council

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills
  2. Superior Writing and Research Skills
  3. Graphic/Creative Design Skills
  4. Excellent Analytical and critical thinking Skills
  5. Strong IT Skills
  6. Advanced Microsoft Powerpoint and Excel Skills

  8. General understanding of maintenance and handling of high volumes of data
  9. Creative self-starter who can work independently or on a team
  10. Experience with writing creative and well-researched pieces on a variety of issues
  11. Organized, driven and able to gather data from a number of challenges independently
  12. Strong attention to detail



  1. Bachelor degree in any discipline preferably in the social sciences and quantitative degrees (e.g. statistics)
  2. Additional qualifications that are design oriented will be a plus
  3.  Experience with Microsoft Excel

The role of a Sponsorship and Partnerships Manager offers a unique opportunity for an aggressive salesperson to increase the Skills Outside School Foundations’ sponsorship and strategic partnerships including the Sponsor-A-Child Scheme.

The Manager will manage the day-to-day communication with Skills Outside School Foundations’ existing partners to ensure all contractual rights are delivered, wider sponsorship benefits are secured and long term sponsorship goals are achieved and reported to the Acting President, Executive Council and the Board of Trustees.

The Manager will be responsible for developing the strategy related to the Foundations’ sponsorship programs, including identifying, cultivating, and developing leads and prospects, negotiating contracts and packages, closing deals, and providing account management.

In addition, the Sponsorship Manager will be responsible for supporting all areas of sponsorship renewals and new sales efforts, preparing sponsorship documents and all such correspondence.

Required Skills:
1. Ability to develop strategic, proactive relationships with potential sponsors and corporate partners, and other supporters of the philanthropic community.
2. Big picture strategist and outside of the box creativity.
3. Proactively take actions necessary to produce results and able to work independently/with little guidance.
4. Build trust internally and externally, and command a professional image.
5. Proactive approach to identifying opportunities, generating leads and producing sponsorship presentations.
6. Exceptionally detail-oriented and self-motivated, ensuring quality and consistent output.
7. Excellent communication including by phone with high level executives from major brands and writing skills: ability to articulate the foundations’ mission, program objectives, exposure opportunities and/or resource needs persuasively to sponsors and corporate partners.
8. Dynamic public speaking skills and ability to articulate concepts and ideas.
9. Superb networking, teamwork and negotiation skills with ability to work effectively with stakeholders to achieve a common goal particularly corporate sponsors
10. Must be very well organized with strong time management skills
Recommended Skills
11. Demonstrated knowledge of trends in corporate and foundation funding, corporate social responsibility (CSR), philanthropy, corporate giving, and good corporate citizenship, and the methods, practices and procedures for obtaining information about cause-marketing programs of corporations and foundations.
12. Proven ability to offer a first-class, professional account management service to commercial partners and to build strong business relationships at all levels
13. Experience in dealing with, and presenting to, senior-level personnel from major brands
14. Ability to initiate and negotiate high value contracts to help meet sponsors’ needs and goals

1. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
2. Proficiency in cloud software applications (Skydrive, DropBox, Google Docs, Harvest.)
3. Interest in philanthropy, fundraising, charity and giving is strongly desirable.


b. Project Coordinator

The Program Coordinator oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of the Skills Outside School Foundations’ ongoing Bridge Project and Professional Mentoring Program including planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the project activities. The Coordinator will primarily plan, execute, monitor and evaluate the Bridge Project and the Professional Mentoring Program. The Coordinator will also manage the liaison with the professional mentors and ensure they are kept up-to-date via newsletters sent every quarter.

The Program Manager should demonstrate competence in some or all of the following:
