Volunteer for Accountability Lab

Accountability Lab catalyses a new generation of active citizens and responsible leaders around the world. The organisation trains, mentors, and extends resources to local change makers to strengthen systems of accountability and unleash positive social and economic change.

Their flagship project, Integrity Idol Nigeria, is the first of its kind and will be an annual campaign with the explicit goal of “naming and faming” honest government officials by bringing Nigerians across the country into a conversation about integrity and accountability. Integrity Idol Nigeria will generate support for civil servants who are serving the public good, highlighting their excellent work in public in an independent way that builds a positive narrative. This will in turn lead to behavioural change that can improve lives and affect Nigeria positively. It will also allow Nigerians to be part of a corrupt-free Nigeria that they can help to build.

Integrity Idol relies heavily on the incredible work of active volunteers (one in each state of Nigeria) for:
– Outreach
– Nominations: The form are made available and collected through as many channels as possible including: online (www.integrityidol.org), through email to team members, and hard copy collected at community centres, government MDAs, coffee shops, events, etc. Forms are reviewed by volunteers who must provide clear justification for the nomination. It has to be clear that the nominee is being nominated for integrity, for example, not simply for good work in the community. Team and volunteers conduct background checks by phone by calling nominators and discussing the nominee.
– Management of Integrity Idol events
– Community building

Basic requirement for this task is ability/ competency to communicate clearly, data collection skill, and community/ people engagement.

The campaign will have volunteers across the country, so that even the furthest to reach communities can participate in the campaign. We will be selecting one volunteer in each state of Nigeria. Kindly include your state of residence in your application based on the guidelines below.

HOW TO INDICATE INTEREST TO VOLUNTEER (Please follow these instructions carefully)
