Female mentors needed!!!

Street to School Initiative needs passionate young professionals
who would love to impact young girls living in rural communities.
Mentors would be expected to keep in touch with their mentees
via e-mentoring (mails, Skype), phone calls or physical visitations
to girls at home or school. They need mentors to inspire young
girls to greatness and a purpose-driven life. It is a very
flexible program but well structured such that mentors are
expected to keep in touch with their mentees at least three
times in a week. According to Tosin Taiwo, founder of the
initiative and winner US Consul General Award 2013,
“Rural community girls are peculiar. They need our mentorship to
prevent introduction into early marriages, early pregnancies,
dropping out of school etc.”

Do you reside in Delta State or Abuja? Are you a female with
a strong passion for ICT? Can you learn how to build mobile
applications to be able to mentor a Technovation Challenge Team?
If your answers are all yes, then attend Women in Technology in
Nigeria (WITIN) hackdays at Delta State on February 1 or Abuja
on February 9. The Technovation Challenge is an after-school
program mentorship program, which gives high-school girls hands-on
experience with engineering and high-tech entrepreneurship.
Through Technovation, young women from all over the world identify
and solve problems in their local communities by developing mobile
app prototypes and business plans. WITIN will lead mentors in
Nigeria who would guide teachers to train teams on how to build
the apps. The training culminates in a global competition where
teams compete for funding to launch their company and take their
apps to market. Register for the hackdays here.
